Week 1: In-Class Design Thinking Activity

Assignment: document and summarize the in-class activity from Wednesday, June 17

Professor Gomes made some slight adjustments for my group. Since two of us have done this activity before, he had our third member, Elaina interview both me and Tyler.  What made it interesting is the fact that both of us ended up having similar items in our wallets: Typical wallet things.. like ID cards, debit/credit cards, and some cash. But we both also had some sort of memento or object that reminded us of someone or something we love and care. Tyler had a photo of his dog, and I had a note that my best friend wrote me on my birthday last year. Elaina picked up on this and decided to dive deeper as to why we had those objects in our wallet, and what opportunities that could possibly bring for a new solution that could help with that specific need. She identified that our main needs and feelings we desired were: safety and security of our important documents (cards, money), and more importantly a feeling of love and community as seen from the mementos we kept with us at all times. Her final solution was to bring them all together in a new type of "wallet app."
